Earlier this year a 'Bacon Butty' morning was held at the Memorial Hall to identify what the community would like to see happen with our wonderful Village field. Ideas were collated and the overwhelming response was that the play park needed updating and expanding. There are now more young families living in the village than ever before and it was agreed that an updated park would benefit the growing needs of our community. Families said that they quite often travelled to other local villages to use their parks and equipment rather than use our village space.
Our aim is to provide a safe and engaging space which will be designed to provide a gathering point for all members of the community of Bolton. We believe that the play park should meet the needs of all ages from toddlers to teens and to include specific equipment and access for those with disabilities.
All local children, including pupils at the school have had the opportunity to gather ideas via a wish list. We are in the process of researching Play Park equipment providers so that initial plans can be drawn up. These plans will be available to view at various events and meetings in due course.
The space needed to expand the park has been discussed by the Hall and Field Committee and agreed. Please see attached plans for details of where the park will extend to.
Through some very generous local donations, donated prize money from the New Crown Inn pub quiz, and our own low level fundraising, we are well on our way to achieving our goals. We will be advertising some events in the very near future and these will be added to this website regularly and updated on our Facebook page.
