My name is Roger Bird. I am Chairman of the Council. I was born in the parish and still live on the family farm Birdby. I joined the Parish Council in 2009 after standing down as elected County Councillor for the area. I am a Chartered Surveyor in Rural Land Management and a member of the Historic Houses Archivists Group. I am also a director of the Lyvennet Community Trust which owns social housing at Crosby Ravensworth. I am Chairman of the Penrith Players Theatre. I have been a member of the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authorities.. My special responsibility is liaison between the Parish Council and Farmers and Landowners. My name is Peter Griffiths. I am Vice Chairman. I was elected as a councillor in 2011 and served as chairman of the Parish Council for seven years. My wife and I have lived in Bolton for seventeen years during which time we have both been active in the community. I graduated with a degree in Moral Sciences, then joined W.H.Smith as a management trainee. After time with Makro, Debenhams and a builders merchant group, I joined a management consultancy company providing business advice. I also acted as an assessor for Investors in People. Walter Head. My wife and I moved to the village 2 years ago after I retired. I am Chairman of the Bolton Memorial Hall Trustees. I have just been made a Bolton School Governor and was co opted onto the Parish Council in 2020 having been a Parish Councillor for a number of years where we lived previously. My name is Peter Smith. I worked for Shell for many years in marketing and IT then was a director of a small IT company for a few years before retiring to Bolton in 2002. And I am Shelagh Leyland, I have been the Parish Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer since 2014. I am employed by the council to manage the finances and take care of communications and administration. I am not a councillor and therefore have no vote. I’ve lived in Bolton since 2012. I initially trained as a GP, but following an MBA in international health development, I then worked as a consultant in the international aid business before returning to GP work in 2004, retiring in 2012. As well as England, I’ve lived and worked in Nepal, Vanuatu, Malawi, Zimbabwe and Belgium.
